PubChat was back with a bang this month, kicking off 2019 on the right foot for publishers from across Sydney and beyond. Our informal gathering on our rooftop balcony overlooking the city gave some of Sydney’s leading digital publishers the chance to talk shop, get the latest industry news and insights and get filled in on Publift’s upcoming product releases and product road map.
Publishers got the chance to meet with fellow publishers and ad ops professionals from demand partners in an informal setting to learn from each other and get up to date on best practices and upcoming changes in the industry.
What Was Discussed at PubChat?
We took a dive into ssp performance across Fuse publishers, highlighting a continual 10% drop year on year in Google’s overall market share as other partners becoming increasingly competitive.
We discussed the causes of this being more transparent bidding systems from the adoption of header bidding, ease of integrations and more advertiser spend flowing through private marketplace deals.
We had a lively discussion amongst the team and publishers around Google’s switch to first-price auctions and the short and long term impact this will have on the industry and publishers specifically.
We looked at true CPM performance across Publift partners, highlighting strong performance from Rubicon through header bidding with a CPM of .26.
Special Guest: We also had a talk from Rubicon’s Account manager Paige Owen, giving us a perspective look at the industry from the buyer side.
Publift Product Announcements
New features and releases of the Fuse Dashboard were discussed in detail with the publishers including a new payment car and an entire dashboard redesign.
Updates to the Fuse tag including pixel triggers for lazy loading, size mapping upgrades, AMP automation and new networks and technologies.
All that with the backdrop of the Sydney skyline as the sun set with a free bar and delicious food? What more could you want for an industry event to help you brush up on your skills, grow your knowledge and meet new people in the industry?
Keep an eye out and sign up for our next PubChat later this year where you can expect more informal fun, engaging content and industry knowledge.
