Media Making the Difference with UnLtd. Big Kahuna Surf Competition
With over 120 attendees, $55k raised and a number of big-name sponsors on the list, UnLtd.’s inaugural Big Kahuna Surf Competition was a huge success!
UnLtd. connects businesses across the media, marketing and creative industry with charities working with at-risk children and young people in Australia. With financial and cultural influence, these businesses work together to create social change (and a bit of fun along the way!)
“The Big Kahuna epitomised everything that we love at UnLtd,” UnLtd CEO Chris Freel said.
Facebook took home the trophy, but the event also had teams representing Domain, Impact, IPG, Mediabrands, OMD, PHD, Pubmatic, Quantcast, Spotify and The Trade Desk. The event was sponsored by ESPN, Impact and Publift. With these names on the roster and the whopping $55k raised, it is clear to see the impact of bringing a community together for good.
Publift held three yoga sessions in the grass overlooking the turquoise waters of Queenscliff beach while spectators cheered on their teams. Lead by the lovely Justyna Konopka, each session was full of enthusiastic participants looking to squeeze a little zen into their days.
In addition to a surf competition and yoga sessions, there was cider flowing, a vegan ice cream truck, a sand castle building contest and enough yellow UnLtd. hats going around to turn heads of all passersby.
Thanks to Jenni and Chris from the UnLtd. team for getting us involved and we look forward to putting a team together and (fingers crossed) bringing home the trophy next year! Watch out, Facebook!
